Twitter Wars with WebVisions

WebVisions

Twitter war WebVisions is coming next month and to get things heated up, they want to start a war. A Twitter War that is! Here’s how it works:

Panels of the brightest and loudest technological minds at Beer and Blog will debate against one another with winners decided by viewers via Twitter. Each topic will have a panel of 4 participants. The topics are:

  • #Javascript vs. #Flash
  • #Wordpress vs #Drupal
  • #Firefox vs. #Safari
  • #Facebook vs. #Twitter
  • #Bridgeport vs. #Deschutes

Each panelist will have one minute to state their case, followed by 3 minutes of free-for-all. People can comment and vote via twitter the entire time. The judges are Brad Smith, Executive Director; Stephanie Wagner, WebVisions Board Member; and Chris Alan from Enact Development. They will be pulling new tweets every 10-15 seconds, and showing ones the judges likes. Judges will determine the best panelist and the best audience comment to win a free pass to WebVisions! If you already have a pass, sorry the prize is not available to you. Second place winners will receive a WebVisions T-shirt.

To Vote

Tweet !v and a comment with the #hashtag and/or @panelist included. This will vote for a hashtag, panelist, or both. A person can only vote once for a hashtag or panelist, subsequent votes will be ignored, but their comments will be saved. A user can vote separately for a hashtag and a panelist to write a longer comment.

To Comment

To comment only, leave out the !v and just tweet your comment with the #hashtag and/or @panelist included.

To Nominate Panelists

Nominate yourself or someone else for a panel by tweeting “@TWarsBeerBlog I nominate @username for #Topic”.

More Prizes

We’re going to have a “Price is Right” style give away based on your Twitter Message ID. They will pick a number and the person with the closest message ID number without going over wins! Prizes include BatchBlue Software and T-shirts.

But wait, there’s more!

Stephanie Wagner @swagnerdesigns will have customizable BatchBlue Twitter T- shirts. Everyone loved the shirt she had on at the Karaoke Beer and Blog and BatchBlue was kind of enough to send us some. The first 15 to show up that can fit in a medium get a shirt.
